BandBased in Raleigh, North Carolina, The
Levee is a Led Zeppelin tribute band that delivers the music of the
legendary British group as it was performed on stage --"tight but
loose". As illustrated by the recent releases
"How the West Was Won" and "DVD", Led Zeppelin's live performances were often
even more amazing than their incredible studio work. The Levee has used a collection of
hundreds of hours of electrifying Zeppelin concert recordings to
carefully construct their stage material. Experiencing the arrangements Zeppelin
employed to perform their music was a revelation for The Levee, and they
want to share that with their audiences. The Levee presents a
show which satisfies everyone, from the fan who's enjoyed a few Led
Zeppelin songs on the radio over the years to the "got every
album" die-hard. Those audience members fortunate enough to
attend Led Zeppelin concerts in the past will be taken to
places they haven't been in many years. Newer fans will go places they've never been before. Playing most of the "radio
hits" casual fans are likely to know is important to the band.
But perhaps there are even more rewards in The Levee's show for the
serious aficionado, who will be happy to hear more obscure tracks like
"Achilles Last Stand" and "Ten Years Gone" performed
with such energy and passion. For many listeners, songs they've
heard countless times will truly come alive for the first time. Dennis Collier (bass) and Dan O'Connor
(vocals) met in 1990. Brian Leden (drums) joined Dan and Dennis in
1998. Al Cruz (guitar) joined the band in March 2003, and
immediately ignited a creative inferno with his incredible talent and
impeccable work ethic.
